The Show Classes

Title Classes
  1. Adolescent
  2. Breeder
  3. Late Alter
  4. Companion

Important note: For AFA Title Classes to qualify for AFA points, each class must have at least 15 entrants and all 15 entrants must have been judged during the class.  So for example, if there are 15 entrants, but one ferret is scratched day-of the event leaving 14, that class will not qualify for AFA Ferret of the Year points.  The registrar closely monitors class sizes and will do all possible to avoid this type of situation.  The more entries the better!

Per AFA guidelines, the maximum number of ferrets allowed to be judged by a judge is 85, and our class sizes will reflect that.  Depending on the number of Title judges secured, the show committee will determine the maximum entries per class. After the registration deadline, ferrets on waiting lists may be added to classes, which have already met the maximum number of entries, if another class has not reached the maximum number of entries.

Important note: For an AFA Specialty Class to qualify for AFA points, the class must have at least four entrants and all four entrants must have been judged during the class.  Based on the registration numbers, a select number of classes can be combined to meet these minimums.  An example of this would be Albino having 3 entries and DEW having 2 entries.  In a case such as this, the Albino and DEW classes would be combined and represented as Albino/DEW with 5 entrants.
